I am looking for a graduate student to rent a room of a fully furnished house in the Sunnyside area close to Queen’s located at 306 Mack Street. As the owner of the house, I recently completed my PhD in Management last fall at Queen’s University and am now an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa.
I am hoping to find like-minded individuals interested in a collaborative environment centered on research, learning, and academic growth. I originally purchased the house because I could not find the kind of focused and supportive academic environment I was personally looking for during my own studies. I still regularly visit and stay at the house when attending research activities and academic events in Kingston.

The house is home to a mix of mature PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, master’s students, and graduate students from around the world studying at Queen’s University. It is a respectful, cooperative, and friendly environment where everyone values professionalism, quiet study, and shared living. The house is located at 306 Mack Street, approximately a 12-minute walk to Queen’s University or a 5-minute bus ride, with a bus stop directly across the street. This beautiful turn-of-the-century home features hardwood floors, abundant natural light, and overlooks Churchill Park from a private corner lot.
The house includes 8 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Some rooms are intentionally kept vacant to accommodate visiting friends and family members. The available bedroom is located on the main floor and has a separate entrance making it very private as well as unique exposed red brick from the original structure giving it cachet. All furniture and linens are included, including a desk, chair, dresser, and bed. The home was recently renovated, and the furnishings are high quality and fully equipped for student living. The rent is $775 per month plus $75 in utilities ($850 total). Included are water, electricity, heating, air conditioning, washer, dryer, dishwasher, high-speed fibre internet (Wi-Fi), and weekly professional cleaning services. The room is available for October 1, 2026. It would also be possible to stay in a guest room for September if needed.
