Beautiful 1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper with extensive recent maintenance and strong cosmetic condition. Originally purchased with plans for long-term travel and van life, but the van is now being sold as a restoration/project vehicle due to engine failure.
The van is currently not running and will require engine repair or replacement. It will need to be towed.
Before the engine issue, 2 years ago, significant work was completed to prepare the van for the road, including:
* New exhaust system
* New brakes
* New tires
* Interior carpet replacement
* Additional work completed for safety certification
The van presents very well overall and retains the classic Westfalia character inside and out. Interior is clean and inviting, exterior shows beautifully for its age, and it would make an excellent candidate for restoration, engine conversion, or enthusiast project.
Additional Notes:
* Odometer was not functioning when purchased, therefore true mileage is unknown (it read 244k when purchased 2 years ago)
* Rear hatch/trunk lock currently needs repair/replacement
* Vehicle has been stored since engine failure
* Receipts available for much of the recent work completed
A great opportunity for someone looking for a solid Westy platform without starting from scratch.
