The good = 1986 Bow rider, nice stable boat, 140hp mercury engine, alpha outdrive. Newer shift cable and boot. Surprisingly not bad on fuel, 30-35mph top speed. Interior is good for its age, floors had been done a number of years ago, stored typically indoors, trailered it and never left in the water (while I have owned it). Trailer is in good shape, lights etc work. Have ownerships for both.
The bad = rear main seal on engine leaks a bit, and there is a ghost issue in the ignition that it starts great, runs well, idles well, but after running for about 15 minutes, it starts to sputter, hiccup and quits. Oddly when it gets to that point you can sense it is going to act up when trimming the outdrive. I have replaced the coil, resistor wire, ran on an isolated gas tank, and the solution alludes me, hasn’t seen much use in the past few years as a result. Took kids tubing a few times, works for quick bursts of fun. Didn’t launch it this year, still winterized from last year, did bump it over just to make sure.
Getting ready to put it away for the winter and figured I’d see if anyone would be interested in it.
